What a year this has been, now don’t give me no “never minds”,

‘Cuz I know you’ve hit the wall like me a few special times,

And the scars and bruises are easy to find.

But hey, ain’t it just grand that we’ve survived another round,

Can toast the blessings which have been bestowed,

Our feet up off the ground,

And dance together as the band plays on and the fireworks fill the sky.

 

Can you take a final sip from past regrets

And offer up your heart for me to love,

Can you dance the light fantastic till the new year comes,

Then keep the rhythm going far above?

When you see me here tomorrow will you care as much as now,

Will you hold our sacred promise like an unbreakable vow,

Will you take my trembling hand and hold it close upon your breast,

As we feel the love in each of us that’s got us flying from the nest?

 

If you had any notion how I feel when you touch me,

You’d want to share its brilliance with everyone you see,

C’mon let’s get out of this place, let’s fly away, just you and me,

Let’s keep on climbing beyond the top of everywhere and everything,

And let’s do it to be free!

 

You are the spirit I’ve been waiting for,

You are surging throughout my realm right now,

And I just have to take you in my arms,

And love you the only way I know how.
