It is always so refreshing to see one’s reflection clearly through an open conversation with someone who shares a broader view.  And at the narrow end of that funnel it is “you” who always appears.  The process then becomes like waiting patiently for a beautiful flower to unfold and there’s nothing else on the schedule.   By seeing that the outside is a direct reflection of the inside a different quality of energy emerges.  This force is “truth” and its elixir will create some wild hallucinations if you dare.

I have always been a “survivalist” at heart.  I believe in having an exit strategy if an emergency arises and I know that “barebones simple” would be the order of the day.

Have you got at least a bag of lentils and rice stashed away somewhere?

What are you willing to give up to be free?  What will you leave behind?

That is the only question facing us each day.

Does “outrageous” figure into it anywhere?

Death is forever at your side and you are only one step ahead.  If a radical change must occur to rebalance all the confusion that besets us then it must come from within.  It is an illusion to believe the change will happen due to someone or something else, at some point down the road.  It begins and ends within each one of us every moment that is the present.   That realization naturally quiets the mind and the viewing screen then becomes crystal clear.  I also believe that life is a network, everything interconnected with some synapses extraordinarily powerful.  I believe there are amazing people and opportunities available in this state if that is what you wish to attract.  I also know the luxury of  “time of no time”.   I can easily blend into the peace of the desert while the pages on the calendar slip away.  It’s all available for the asking.  Each step I take has as its purpose the revelation of the truth and I never take that privilege and responsibility for granted.  Suffering of any kind anywhere is unnecessary and we are the comforting gift which is the solution.

I am attending a training program through “Seniors Serving Seniors”  provided to give those interested the general skills and knowledge to assist seniors who are returning home after hospital.  It’s such an unsettling experience for them.  There are nurses, social workers, counsellors and others who deliver the teachings.   For me that represents valuable knowledge right now.   When I was a kid I thought the world revolved around all grandmas and grandpas.  I thought they were all special and now when I see the challenges these elders face my heart just opens up and welcomes it all in.   There is no need for sorrow either and once again we hold the golden key.  Your only intended influence is that of love.  That’s the incredible fact that transcends everything.  We took the wrong fork in the road somewhere long ago and now have assumed this selfish role as “interpreter” of the realm rather than admitting responsibility.  This is the illusion that separates us and ultimately creates all the confusion.

There is indescribable beauty in the simplest of things especially as it manifests in nature.   This can create a magical adventure out of every day.   Whatever scene you wish to see yourself in, you are the full production crew and the movie theatre is bulging with an appreciative audience.   Maestro!

How much time in the day do you devote to “chilling”?

By the way, I now have Mary using the phrase “chilling out”.  It hasn’t been a part of her vocabulary over these past 86 years so I had to explain to her carefully the true meaning of it because she knows I chill out a lot.   She understands now and sometimes when I call her and ask what she’s doing she’ll casually respond, “Oh, just chilling out, John”.  Totally sweet every time I hear her say it.  She tells some of her sweet friends that “I’m teaching her how to chill out”.  It’s totally fun.  She has been through so much recently especially the death of so many close people.    I keep reminding her of how much she is loved and that’s pretty well all I can do...love her up.

Tonight I have a tender heart for everything and especially for you.

May your own sweet brilliance greet you in the morning as you open your eyes,

And may the gilded spirit that flows through these words to you unite us all,

May that essence also deliver us to the gate which opens upon the field of love,

Like a fragrant bouquet of wildflowers.

Let go of all the tethers and release all the pain,

Make the next thing you touch absorb you and be absorbed as well.

Because you lie beyond the word and cannot be described

I can only offer you my heart’s embrace with a smile to light the path.

The orchestra is finished with the first movement and waiting for the next.

How will it sound, what instrument will you play?

Walk quickly to the mirror and promise to set yourself free.

With love and admiration,

Dr. John
