Awakening in the morning...
Monday, April 20, 2009
There is that hush that ushers in the dawn with ceremonious reverence, the growing light coming like a legion of good from beyond the eastern shore.
Quietly at first then sending forth its avian emissaries to herald its imminent arrival.
This is the creative time when heart and soul are stroked with a gentle touch,
This is the time of anticipation as the clarity deepens and the spirit is in delight.
It is in this delicate moment when all things once laid to rest are suddenly revived.
I see the rainbow dripping from the blade of grass,
I am absorbed by the intricate splendour woven through the web at my window as first you sparkle from your sleep.
And as you touch my heart with your warm rays as one would play the harp,
I am enlivened beyond the scope of all remembering.
Mine is but a fragment of the divine mosaic which stirs to welcome us all.
The birds have sensed your coming too as they playfully sing your praise,
And just outside my door the crown of a slumbering flower begins to turn its head toward your grace,
Welcoming you with its unfurling joy.
The colours bolden and the fragrance penetrates me though and through
As my spirit rises up to greet you,
To thank you and to repeat the sacred mantra bursting from within my heart,
I love you...I love you...I love you.
Come, quickly unbutton and unfasten me here for there’s not a precious moment to be lost,
I wish to stand naked before you and within you,
I wish to receive your benediction as unfettered as I can,
I want to melt into your arms as only lovers know,
To lay my cheek upon your bosom sweet,
And know again that I am safe, that we are one, and shall be forevermore.
I feel the surge throughout the realm,
It will not be denied.
Please, please make haste before my breathing slows,
Before I gain control,
Before the blessing fades.
The only signpost you must heed lies brilliantly in your heart,
In that limpid pool of understanding from whence all goodness comes to life.
Out of this benevolence arises the cosmic union of father and mother and the holy birth of the childlike wonder that you are.
This reveals the fresh start inherent in every new glance, in each prophetic beat of your heart,
All sustained by the sweet breath of your true spirit.
O Grand Muse of the Desert I beseech you to touch me here,
To kiss me there,
That I might share with you and others the dance of love which only you can teach.
I can sit still no longer for I must prepare the glorious banquet you deserve.
I must pour the wine, pluck the ripened fruit, and don my favourite gown.
This is the celebration of all celebrations.
There is no time to linger.
I am ready for you now,
As I have been throughout all time.
And all that remains undone is the sacred union,
The bliss of my discovery that beckons you to my side.
Fulfilled, awakened, and brimming with sensuous life I repeat the whispered chant,
I love you... I love you... I love you.
