Right course of action...
Sunday, September 20, 2009
An ancient elder whispered feebly in my ear today that his time of transition was drawing nigh,
His edifice was crumbling all around and there was no means or will to rebuild it now.
This poignant message was followed closely by the faint cry of a starving child somewhere in Guatemala,
As she lay gasping in her mother’s arms.
All this and more was born on the wing of a breeze today as I opened the door to my heart.
I am reminded with each precious breath of what must be done
As you appear before me inviting me to dance as only a lover can.
I am reminded of the journey which has long been set before me,
And the right course of action is all that I can feel.
If I were to attempt to describe the swelling in my chest as grief or sadness perhaps you’d misunderstand,
But there’s a more profound joy behind it all that gives rise to the understanding that knows no limits, none at all.
This is the surge that drives me home, this is the reckoning of the divine.
I am smitten by your love,
I am overwhelmed by your grace,
I have vanished once again within the bosom of your tender smile.
And know you will not forsake me.
And as the inner terrain transforms I see your reflection all around,
Being drawn to perform in all the selfless glory only you can give.
I feel your compassionate touch as you reach deep inside my being, adjusting things as I give in,
Releasing all threads of resistance and yielding me to your dominion.
Step back from whatever you are doing and ponder where you’re going,
Ask not to be shown the way for it is ever present in your gaze.
Reach out for all that is yet unfulfilled and give from the bottom which is your undying source.
Remember from whence you came so that you can return home the hero simply by your presence.
And when your sweet cheek meets the pillow tonight,
Know that I am hovering overhead, sword and harp in hand,
Protecting you and showering you with my unbridled love.
Gratitude and forgiveness are the fuel cells that move me forward,
Let them be yours too,
And when we meet again at the crossroads please hold me tight and never let me go.
Bathed in the brilliance of your light,
I remain,
Breathless and in awe.
