The mountain lioness...
Sunday, December 20, 2009
Late last night I slipped over the edge of the cliff in search of your secret lair,
And as I hung precariously from the ledge I saw your warm green feline eyes as they guided me to your nest,
It was a homecoming like no other as we wrestled playfully to the floor.
I surrendered to you immediately which brought on the flow of love,
And there atop the cedar boughs and grass we shared everything we had to give.
I remember being held so gently in your arms as you purred inside my ear
All the words of all the tongues that ever tried to describe you as the Divine my dear.
I felt comforted, I felt protected, I felt one with you at last,
And as I looked out from your cave to the mountains far away
I let go of all the past.
No fear or thoughts of escaping entered mind or heart,
Only fullness without longing as you stroked me once again,
So there we lay in perfect harmony just as the spirit had intended,
Caressing, embracing, gazing into the deep until the moon began descending.
There was dancing there was singing there was gay revelry as well,
And in between the magical notes came a tenderness that shook me still.
And in the glorious morn as the solar chariot raced across the heavens
All robed in an orange and yellow glow,
I felt you release your hold on me allowing my ascent to the perch from whence I came.
I can still smell your scent for it is woven throughout my life,
And is the guide that shows the way
To that place in the heart where we meet after dark and dreamtime spirits me away.
