One can never truly receive until all has been given away

For only then can the centre vanish

And disappear into that from which it was born

 

If you can drop something completely

Never touching it again

The spirit will replace the space

And guide you safely home

 

I can see you on the dance floor right now

Wearing your favourite outfit and zoot shoes too

I can see you absorbed in the love that you are

And I swoon to the tune from afar

 

It matters not to me how anyone else describes it

For I am lost in the romantic pleasure of you now

There’s no reason to deny it nor to feel hesitant to say

How deeply I am in love with you

And how much I want to give away

 

I know that you will listen and absorb the sacred meaning

Lying deep beyond the word

Where the flow of the Divine is the only motion alive

As we join in the  stream that is love

 

There can be no guardian at the gate to the heart

For its wisdom will always protect us

To fade into her embrace without time

Is the answer sung within her grace

And that’s where I want to meet you

Cheek to cheek face to face

 

When the rhythm of you comes my way

I have to glide across the floor

Being held lightly in your arms as on we twirl

Creating an extraordinary display

 

The most challenging thing to do

Is to give up the right of choice

But perhaps there’s a dimension somewhere in between

Where you’ll hear the Beloved’s voice

And know the rest is up to you

 

This is the path upon which I’ll meet you once again

For you are the sweet nectar from the garden

That is the essence of all things

And I am here devoted to that passion

To come naked before you now

And pledge myself in all ways I can

To be the answer to your sacred vow

And to be the knight in shining armour

Whose quest continues to be

Protecting you from all dragons and disbelievers

Until all lovers are set free
